Services
The following is a list (by no means all-inclusive) of the services offered to students at Birks:
- Student ID cards
- Tuition and other fees payment processing and information
- Undergraduate and graduate admission guides and related information
- Distribution of forms for deferred/med grades, supplemental exams, degree transfers, re-admission, late completions, re-evaluations and appeals
- Letter requests
- Quebec Provincial Residency and Code Permanent forms and information
- Student records and class schedules
- Process
official transcript requests
- Process Independent Student Application forms for new Independent students and provide basic registration information
- Store unclaimed degrees after convocation for in-person pick-up
- Disburse student loan or bursary (if the MyConcordia web portal indicates it's available in LB-185)
- Book appointments with Admission Interviewers
- Complete OPUS card reduced fare forms
The Birks Student Services Centre does NOT:
- Establish fees for registration, tuition and other services
- Advise students on academic issues
- Change grades
- Make decisions regarding student appeals (probationary, failed, re-admitted)
- Make decisions regarding late completions, supplementals, medical exemptions, language requirements
- Certify documents (other than copies of Concordia degrees / diplomas)
- Register students
- Add or drop courses for students
- Reverse decisions made by other areas of the University
- Process course overloads
- Process concentration changes
- Waive pre-requisites
- Issue lockers or parking permits
- Issue/reset MyConcordia
NetName and passwords
- Issue tuition receipts
