Examination Schedules - Tentative and Final

Tentative Exam Schedule

A tentative exam schedule is a preliminary schedule formulated based on information received from the academic departments within each Faculty or School.

Availability:

It is available as follows:

Mid-October for the December exam period
Mid-February for the April exam session
We do not publish a tentative schedule for the two summer sessions.
Location:
The tentative exam schedule is available in various locations and modes:
  1. A paper copy is posted outside H110 in the Hall Building and in the lobby of the John Molson School of Business building (SGW)
  2. A paper copy is posted outside CC214 in the Central Building (LOY)
  3. Your personalized “tentative” schedule is available via your portal at www.myconcordia.ca

Purpose:

The tentative exam schedule is intended as a guide to what your exam schedule may be like. It lets you know early what your exam schedule is likely to be so that you can set your study priorities accordingly.

Also, the tentative schedule is circulated to each academic department for feedback. Consequently, there are always some changes made to the schedule that will be reflected when the final is posted.

Because the tentative schedule is just exactly that – tentative and we know there will be changes, you are advised NOT to make travel or employment arrangements based on this information. Special arrangements cannot be made for examinations that may conflict with such plans. Additionally, it is your responsibility to be available for the entire examination period.

Exam conflicts based on the tentative schedule:

Although you may notice that you have an exam conflict you don’t need to do anything about it at this time. Because the schedule is still tentative your conflict may disappear if there are any changes made. Therefore, look at the schedule again once it becomes final. If your conflict still exists at that time you will be able to report the problem by going to www.myconcordia.ca.

Final Exam Schedule

The final examination schedule is formulated based on information received from each academic department regarding those courses that will have a final exam scheduled and administered by the Examinations Office during the formal exam period. It also takes into account feedback provided and changes requested after the tentative schedule has been reviewed.

Availability:

The final schedule is available as follows:

Late October for the December exam period
Late February for the April exam session
Location:

The final exam schedule is available in various locations and modes:

  1. A paper copy is posted outside H110 in the Hall Building and in the lobby of the John Molson School of Business building (SGW)
  2. A paper copy is posted outside CC214 in the Central Building (LOY)
  3. Your personalized “final” schedule is available via your portal at www.myconcordia.ca.

Purpose:

The final schedule is the official record of which courses are having exams administered by the Examinations Office. The schedule provides the date, time and location of your exams and permits you to know well in advance how you should organize and use your time.

The examination schedule lists only those examinations scheduled by the Office of the Registrar. Students must check with instructors regarding tests or examinations for courses not listed.

It is your responsibility to write the correct examination at the time and place indicated.
